There are projects that test your creativity, and then there are the ones that take you right back to where it all began. For us, this one was both.
When Johnny and Joanna from GroupSet Coffee — our very first customers — reached out asking for a full rebuild of their coffee bar, we didn’t hesitate for a second. These guys have been part of our story from day one, and the opportunity to refresh their setup felt like a full-circle moment. The only catch? We had just one week to pull it off.

The Challenge
With a tight deadline and a big vision, this build pushed the limits of what we could achieve in seven days. Over 70 hours of work went into transforming a well-loved rig into something completely new — refined, practical, and built to serve coffee with style.
From the first day, the workshop was buzzing; early mornings, late nights, and plenty of espresso (fittingly) to keep us going. Every element, from the layout to the lighting, had to work in perfect harmony to meet both functionality and design goals. Best part about it Johnny and Joanna had no idea of the design plans.
From Sheet Metal to Showpiece
One of the standout details in this rebuild is the custom laser-cut sign. This piece started as a flat sheet of steel and became a glowing centrepiece inside the canopy. Laser-cut, powder-coated, pain
We didn’t just want this sign to look good, we wanted it to represent the pride and personality that Johnny and Joanna bring to every coffee they pour.

The Finishing Touch: Copper Bronze Elegance
Every rig tells a story through its finishes, and this one speaks volumes. The copper bronze tones flow through the build, on the machine and grinder, adding warmth and a sense of luxury without losing that rugged, industrial feel that defines Espresso 79 builds.
It’s the little details — the subtle powder coating on the trims and finish on the machine, cables invisible to the eye, sleek choices in electronics — that elevate the entire space from a working coffee setup to something that genuinely turns heads at every stop.
The Reveal
When it all came together, the result was more than just a build. It was a moment. Seeing Johnny and Joanna open that Trig Point canopy on their new rig for the first time was a reminder of how far we’ve come; from those early days figuring it all out, to now, delivering something that captures years of growth, learning, and passion.
Their excitement said it all. The very next day, they were back out on the road, slinging shots of espresso across Greater Brisbane, and doing what they do best — bringing good coffee and great vibes to their community.

Where to Find Them
If you’re in the area, make sure to catch GroupSet Coffee every Sunday at the Redcliffe Markets. Trust us — the coffee tastes even better when you know the story behind the setup.
Why This One Matters
This wasn’t just a rebuild; it was a celebration of connection, of loyalty, growth, and the journey from a single coffee rig to the thriving network of builds we’ve had the privilege to work on since.
Projects like this remind us why we do what we do. It’s not just about the steel, the powder coat, or the perfect paint finish, it’s about the people, the stories, and the small businesses who pour everything they have into what they love.
For us, that’s what Espresso 79 has always been about. Creating builds that bring creativity, craftsmanship, and community to life — one cup at a time.
